I am trying to uninstall tm1 9.4 mr1 from control panel. I have stopped the tm1 admin server, excel and planning sample services.
However in the middle of the uninstall, i still get message 'Error 1921. Service () could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services
I am using windows vista business

Try rebooting the machine. I encountered a similar error one time on Vista Ultimate during an uninstall. The uninstall had in fact worked but because there was an issue with the user that one of the services had been installed to run under I needed to kick the computer over to get rid of all of them from the services list.andre lie wrote:I am trying to uninstall tm1 9.4 mr1 from control panel. Thanks Alan, I have tried rebooting the pc several times but still being able to uninstall it. I also tried to re-install the tm1, it completes succefully but when I try to uninstall i have the same message again. The reason i want to uninstall is that the tm1web does not work for the Websheet although the excel sheet works from presepctives (every time i click on websheet from application folder, i get 'Error on page' at the status bar of internet explorer

Hi Andre,
Just a shot in the dark... could it be that the error is caused by the fact that it can't stop the services because you already stopped them - of course the uninstall procedure should check for this, but there is bad programming everywhere... Another option is to stop the IIS service (World Wide Web Publishing Service) before the uninstall.

i manage to uninstall it using other uninstaller, not from windows add/remove programs

What did you use? I am seeing something similar in our dev environment be it with 9.0sp2.
It's weird I used other uninstallers (revo uninstall) which at least got rid off all the files and cleaned the registry but it is still in the add/remove programs menu. I was able to install 9.4 after doing that and I have requested a format of the DEV environment as I do not find the current situation confidence inspiring.
