Launching 2nd application in PM

Hello and i apologize if this has been covered already but i was unable to find anything on it.

I currently have a budgeting application running for 2017. I am trying to launch a new second application for the 2018 budget. the 2018 app uses all the same views and cubes as the 2017. I have deactivated the 2017 and when i try to deploy the 2018 application i get errors stating that "A control dimension is required for a shared cube". How do i create that and what goes in it?

You need to define the existing "Years" dimension as a control dimension
