Can anyone help me on any enablement on the IIS for the TM1 web to work. I find it hard to work on Server 2008 than the lower versions of Windows Server. Can you please assist me on this?

I was able to enable the browser but I have another issue.

I don't have the release notes at hand but I am pretty sure that
- TM1 Web requires IIS 5 or 6
- TM1 Web requires .Net 2 (possibly .Net 3 in 9.4 - not sure off hand)
- Win server 2008 is not officially supported

Therefore you are breaking new ground trying to get TM1 Web to function in Win 2008 server with IIS 7! You might get it to work but I don't think it will be worth the effort, much better off working in a supported environment.

Its is possible however to install TM1 on a different Web Server whose OS is lower than Server 2008? If so how is it done, I'm not much of a infrastructure person so I would greatly appreciate on some guidance.

I FOUND IT!!! I FOUND IT!!! I ACTUALLY FOUND A PAGE THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR ON THE IBM WEB SITE!!!

I feel like Pizarro stumbling out of the Amazon jungle having actually found El Dorado! And I grant you that it took me about 20 minutes and I came upon it as much by luck as by skilful navigation, but I actually found the page on the IBM site which contains the support matrix for TM1!

Of course, with the "mad-woman's knitting" architecture of the sites it's possible that this will move in the future, but for the time being, here it is:

(This would be unnecessary if the table was in the documentation as it was in the Olden Days, but the 9.4 Installation Guide (page 1-4) merely points you to the Cognos Web site (which no longer exists, and see the El Dorado analogy above for its replacement).)

You're right, 2008 is not currently supported even in 9.4 MR1. The only ones that are (for Web) are Windows 2003 R2 (Intel 32-bit) and Windows 2003 R2 x644 (64-bit). And only IIS6 (not 5 any more) and .Net 3.0. (1.1 is shown as "Not Supported".)

Amen. Especially given the DNA relating 2008 to Vista; my bet is that there will be a whole bunch of security gotchas just waiting in the wings for us with TM1, IIS and Web. Probably 2008 is locked down by default more than 2003. We have it working ok on IIS 6. You may have to give each virtual directory execution and read privileges explicitly.

Personally I would continue to try with 2008 because you probably have as much work to retrograde to 2003. After all you are still fundamentally just serving pages and although 2008 is not certified to work by IBM in theory it should still work.

Also you want a different URL

put tm1weblogin.aspx on the end of the URL you tried.

If Web's installed and working properly, that's unnecessary.

TM1WebLogin.aspx is defined as the default content page in the web site definition in IIS, and provided that's enabled it should load by default.

Provided that you don't expect any support from IBM, given that they're pretty much guaranteed to use the "unsupported environment" line if you put in a help request. (George's post in the thread Which TM1 versions are supported with Excel 2007? being particularly relevant to this.)

Although I was able to view the site by including the TM1Login.apsx. However, although the compatibility might not be ensured. But it makes wonder why the login name and password doesn't appear if it does only for a while during the loading of the page, once the page has been loaded you won't be able to see it the login name & password.
