CopyPaste from Excel to TM1 web loses decimal points

Hi,

I am using TM1 10.2.2 in Windows 10 and Excel 2016.

When copying data from Excel onto TM1 through the copy and paste (Control C + Control V) if I don't have the decimal points in display in Excel, then TM1 will not capture the decimal points correctly. For example, 12.45 in Excel, which is only displayed as 12, becomes 12.00 in TM1.

A workaround I found was to display more decimal points in Excel, in the previous example I would display 12.45 in Excel and TM1 will capture 12.45.

Is there a permanent solution for this? isn't the information in the clipboard with all decimal points? this could be a problem If end users start using the tool and find discrepancies between their Excel files and TM1.

thanks

You're barking up the wrong tree here Pal.What you are experiencing is due to the clipboard, not TM1. To prove it to yourself type any number you want in Excel in four consecutive lines, making sure the number has at least three decimal points. Format the first line with three decimals, the second line with two, the third line with one and the last with none. No highlight the four cells and copy. Now open Notepad and paste. Voila! You'll see four different amounts in Notepad.

Interesting, TM1 consultant said it was an known issue with the tool since 2013!

Any idea if there is a way to make the clipboard to copy all decimals?

Thanks.
