Element Security via Rules vs TI

Hello, in my current model I am redesigning Security, as per IBM documentation except Cell Security all other Object Security should be done either manually or TI due to Security Refresh which is locking event (Please see attached figure)
I am just wondering if there is any exception to this rule, as we have rule derived ElementSecurity which is quite convenient and SecurityRefresh is also quick, is there any need to restructure it via TI ..?, thanks

If you're looking for someone here to tell you the "right" way to do it then forget about it. There is no right way. Using rules in security cubes is most certainly convenient and can be a real time saver in certain situations. As long as you understand the consequences in using such an approach and have a plan to handle it then go ahead.

Thanks for reply Tom, will go ahead with rules as looks convenient and doesn't seem to have any adverse affect as of now

Are you combining the rule based security with Contributor and a hierarchy based work flow?

Ok good. I was checking as there can be complications when using rule based security and contributor,
Jim.

I was working with some performance issues once which meant experimenting with different security. Have to say I didn't find any difference between Rules vs Manual or Cell vs Element. But that was one model. I just got the feeling TM1 has improved in these areas which means the difference is neglible.
