Action Button parameters disappear on other computers

Hello together,

although I am following this forum for quite some time now, this is my first post.

We are using action buttons in Excel Worksheets (Excel 2010) to start TI processes. Some of these processes need parameters, that are available in various named cells in the same workbook. When I am opening the Excelfile on my computer I can see the action button with its parameters, that I created in this sheet on this computer.

When I open the same file with the same TM1 user on another machine all parameters for this action button are gone and the process therefore can not be executed unless I link all parameters again.

The behavior is the same using 10.2.2 FP 4 and 10.2.2 FP 5. Reinstalling TM1 did not help at all.

Furthermore when I open this workbook on a computer running excel 2010 and TM1 9.5.2 the buttons lose their names and any functionality whatsoever. It is not even possible to access the settings window for the buttons any longer.

Does anybody have an idea why the action button does not use the selected parameters on other computers? Let me know if you need more information. I really appreciate any assistance.

On the computers where the parameters are disappearing, can you insert an ActiveX control from the Developer ribbon? I have had a similar issue where it was down to an Excel patch.

Thank you for your reply!

Inserting an ActiveX control (all of them) works perfectly on all 3 computers I tested it on.

The only other things that come to mind right now are to check your MSCOMCTL files and remove the .EXDs whilst office applications are closed.

Mine are below for comparison (and I run 10.2.2 FP4) but compare your working machine to the non-working ones:

Code: Select all

 Directory of C:\Windows\SysWOW64
2009/03/24 10:52 PM 659,264 MSCOMCT2.OCX
2014/05/22 10:55 AM 1,070,232 MSCOMCTL.OCX
The EXDs reside in:

Code: Select all

%appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft\Forms\MSComctlLib.exd
%appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft\Temp\VBE\MSForms.exd
