Since it does not support 64 bit architect.
How one anyone work in basic editor and that too in latest version???

IBM is... exaggerating, but only slightly. Apparently there are still ways to get the A.R.E. to work and there are a number of threads on this in the forum. (For example,
this.) However you have to jump through hoops to do it and there's the question of whether it's worth it for what is now unsupported technology.
So how does anyone work with the basic editor? Easy, some of us don't; we use .xrus instead. Formatting to your heart's desire, the ability to construct similar rules from formulas, storage of as much metadata as you could ever possibly want about the provenance of the rules...
Yes, .xrus are old school. But it's not a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" it's a case of "If you have better functionality from an older tool, why in the living h3ll would you ever move from it to something that is inferior?"
I mean I suppose I could switch to using Performance Muddler to do my rules, but I shudder to think how much I'd spend on monitors, what with putting a bullet through at least one per day and all...
