Ops Console Watchdog

Post by David Usherwood »

Grinding my way through the 10.2.2 BI/AD integration I thought I should look at Ops console - not something I have touched since the first release insisted I muck around with SSL keys ( ). But I saw, around page 27 of the documentation, a passage on the Watchdog capability - which appears to allow you to set rules for monitoring and cancelling things. I'm being deliberately vague on what those 'things' might be, because the dialogue looks like this:

and nowhere do I find any documentation about what the 'Fields' might contain - well, I can make a guess at User and even Object, but it would be really really good to have proper writeups. Any suggestions?

Some of the fields do make sense I guess, but the fact that they free form fields is a bit of a worry. If only the software contained something like I don't know, pick lists??

Not the best but something is better than nothing:

You have to define at least one rule / condition.
 The default action is to ‘Kill’. You can choose to log the event as well, when the rule
condition matches.
 The State field accepts these settings: Idle, Run, Commit, Rollback, Wait, Logon, Finish.
 User field is case sensitive.
