Active directory sync on IBM cloud

Team,
We recently implemented TM1 on IBM cloud, version 10.2.2. We would like to know if its possible to activate single sign on through our LDAP sync protocol? Additionally we would also like to know if there are other cloud options available like Amazon, etc. other than IBM cloud.

Seeing as how the IBM Cloud offering is pretty new you'll probably have to ask them.

It depdends on what you mean by "otpions". AFAIK that is the only "supported" option by TM1. Of course you are free to install it on any cloud offering as long as you have valid licenses to do so. I personally have installed and used it on Amazon. I can't imagine it being any different on the others out there.

@tomok: Great answer. I'd like to know more about your experience with Amazon cloud services. We have lots of outages with IBM cloud services. There are some planned outages that will bring down the system for certain period of time typically on weekends. We wished they would have moved us temporarily to another system while they do their maintenance, but thats not available. Can you share your experience with Amazon cloud regarding the outages? Also can you let me know if the active directory is synchonized with Amazon cloud services. Appreciate it.

Can't answer that one. I only installed it on Amazon to see if it would work. You would need to talk to someone who uses AWS in a production environment to see of they are satisfied with their up-time. I've got to believe it way better than IBM. All my experiences with AWS have been fantastic. They really know what they're doing and it is relatively easy to set up[/quote]

????? Who's active directory, your company's? I would imagine your company's AD would have to sit outside the firewall or at least allow connections from the outside to be able to authenticate to it. That's a question for your IT department, not anybody on this board.

Can anyone else on this board share any experience with Amazon cloud or AWS?
@tomok: Its our company's active directory. All I can tell you is that there's some limitation with IBM cloud services that fails to connect to our active directory from what I have heard. I believe our IT department is capable of meeting the requirements that IBM would lay down in terms of firewall, etc. I just wanted to get feedback from other members on this board if they ever tried to synchronize their company's active directory on IBM cloud.

Hi
Not sure it is clear enough, I just want to repeat it: TM1 on the Cloud with IBM is a SaaS model where you pay a monthly fee to access their services.
To install TM1 on Amazon cloud, you have to purchase the licenses, as you would do if you wanted to install it to one of your in-house servers.
so there is a significant difference in terms of licensing and pricing if you go with the Amazon or the IBM option.

Also, keep in mind that the version on IBM Cloud comes/will come with a bunch of other components (Prism, Watson, CastIron) that are not available in an on-premise version, which is essentially what you are doing on Amazon AWS.

Thanks for all the response. It appears that in terms of pricing and licensing IBM cloud is a better option. However we are concerned about many downtimes with IBM cloud. Additionally we have been informed that the active directory synchronization is not possible with IBM cloud, we would have liked to have a single sign on for all users.
