Hello,

We combine TM1 and CAFE to build Sales Planning reports based on Flex Views for business users.

Their current authentication is long and repetitive. Here's the steps they have to follow :
1. Open Perspectives
3. Connect
4. Select Server ID by 2 clicks
5. OK (Use Integrated Login)
6. Confirm the connection to the server
7. Switch to IBM Cognos
8. Display IBM Cognos Action Pane
9. Logon to the server selected by 3 clicks
10. Select a Namespace by 2 clicks
11. Type in User Name and Password
12. Click Login

Not to mention when users are kicked off for the latency and have to exit totally and open again their Excel.

Is it possible to write a batch to have the list above grouped, so that users need only double click the program on their desktop to connect themselves (again) onto the system ?

Thanks in advance for your kindly input

Cheers

The Cognos Access Manager should make the authentication easier for both Perspectives and CAFE, although it cannot yet be integrated with MS AD. But an additional Cognos server with CAM can still be too costly :?

For 10.2.2, I recently embarked on a fascinating excursion through the IBM documentation testing out how to integrate TM1 and BI (both Enterprise and Express, since they are now the same sku set). There was much pain, but the integration between CAM and AD was actually pretty good.
I have to ask where the need to use both Perspectives and CAFE arose - why not just Perspectives? I would go that way because I consider CAFE, for all its promise, has a long way to go to replace Perspectives - and the weaknesses are in the programmability area. I have pitched that to the Product Management team quite recently.
