runtime error 1004: method 'DisplayAlerts' of object '_Application' failed

Hi,

we just upgrade our TM1 from 9.4 to 10.2. Now we face a problem: runtime error 1004: method 'DisplayAlerts' of object '_Application' failed.

The scenario is:
1. Open TM1 Perspective through Excel
2. Create one powerpoint file.
3. Insert one Excel table to powerpoint file. Set this excel table->Formulas->Calculation Options->Manual
4. Focus the mouse one the Excel Table. Then click F9 button

The error message shows up:
runtime error 1004: method 'DisplayAlerts' of object '_Application' failed

If I don't open TM1 Perspective 10.2, and perform the same steps above, click F9 will not triger the error. And when we have the old TM1 9.4, we never see such error.

Could some one help me to solve the problem?

One tip here: if don't set excel table->Formulas->Calculation Options to "Manual", just take the default "Automatic", the Excel table embedded in powerpoint will be calculated automatically, and no error pops up.

Best regards,

It wouldn't surprise me if it's the same issue with corrupted .exd files as is described in this thread.

Close down all of your Office products and get rid of any .exd (temporary ActiveX) files that you can find on your system and see whether that fixes it.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your reply. I also read the the thread in your post. I tried the following scenario:
1. Remove all *.exd files in my computer, then execute the steps in my initial post. The error still pops up
2. Get a new computer, which has no *.exd in it. Then install TM1 10.2, execute the steps as above. The error still exists.

What should I do further more?
