Cancel rule attach process
I just realized we can cancel rule attach process in 10.2.2 ops console(haven't tried in TM1 top yet). Previous version doesn't allow me to do so.

Are you absolutely positively sure? That would be big news.

Re: Cancel rule attach process
Yes, I can't believe it by myself as well as someone told before I could never cancel this process. In fact, if you cancel it in TM1 top, it is also successful.
Here is my testing,
1. Attach the rule. (This rule takes forever to attach as the feeders is not proper.) 2. Same in TM1 top. It is still running. 3. Cancel it in ops console.

4. After some minutes, cancellation is successful. The log shows "exception". If it is in the normal attaching process, it won't show '"exception" in the log when finishing computing feeders.
Happy to discuss if anyone has some idea.

This is big news,
do you have to verify admin access before you do this? I am on 10.2.1 and I have to do this before killing TIs, its one of the worst parts of OpsConsole, in my opinion.
Thanks,
Trevor.

How else do you cancel TIs? Even tm1top makes you verify admin access first.TrevorGoss wrote:do you have to verify admin access before you do this?

There are alternatives which pre-authenticate the user so that you don't have to when it comes to cancelling a thread.TrevorGoss wrote:do you have to verify admin access before you do this? Re: Cancel rule attach process
Only that there are other commercial alternatives to ops console which verify the user via security i.e. you have to log in to access the tool therefore you aren't ever prompted to verify admin access at the time you actually want to kill a thread.

I think he's talking about Pulse, but is somewhat constrained by the forum's commercial rules.macsir wrote:Do you want to share? lotsaramlotsaram wrote:There are alternatives which pre-authenticate the user so that you don't have to when it comes to cancelling a thread.TrevorGoss wrote:do you have to verify admin access before you do this? I, as an end user with no other connection to the product, aren't... though while I can attest to this functionality reportedly having been upgraded in the latest version, I can't attest to having used it in anger... yet. (I suppose that I could try pre-authenticating and killing off a few threads now but my users might get upset...
