Securing an integer using break back

How do you secure an integer when you use break back functionality in Cognos TM1? Let's say you use TM1 for demand planning and want to secure that units sold is an integer when you perform break back.

Hello,
If you mean Break back with the built-in Data spread functionality or shortcut commands or entering a value at a consolidated level, then you can't do that.
The closest you can get is by using a second measure which contains a TM1 rule to round up or round down the unrounded figure.
Also, plug in the difference (if any) at a dummy element somewhere to make the totals match.
Or, use a TI process instead of a TM1 rule if it would be too heavy and/or not so dynamic.
If you use a custom TI process instead of the built-in commands, you could also do your own treatment of the data but it's far from easy to say the least.

If it's only a user perception issue, you could just accept the fact that spreading will produce non-integer data, simply formatting the numbers in the cubes as integers, so that no-one will mind. In a driver-based planning context your greatest possible error would be between -1 and 1 and this wouldn't matter.
