Moving "applications" in Architect

version TM1 Architect 10.2.2 FP1
Windows 2012 R2 Server

I have a simple question. We created many "applications" in the TM1 server's application folder, basically they are shortcuts to specific views to our data cubes. There are many now and we would like to organize them by subfolders. However whenever I try to copy/move them I get an error "Cannot find object xxx on server '<server_name>'. Would you like to delete this reference?" (Y/N)

Yes would delete the link I am attempting to copy
No would leave a dead link in the destination folder.

All objects and the subfolder are public. Not private.

Is it even possible to move these things around?

Thanks.

No. You have to create the new folders and copy in the views from down in the Cubes section of the navigation tree in Architect all over again. This is one of my biggest disappointments with the Applications folder functionality.

Hi

It looks to me as though your shortcuts are corrupt. They should be pointing to the cube views. I suggest that you look at the file system and look under }Applications and then at the folders under there. You should see .VIEW files. You can open these in Notepad. Check to see whether the Cube and View in these is correct.

If I have to do a lot of re-organisation in Application Folders, I find it easier to shut the TM1 service down and do it at the file level. When the TM1 Service starts up, it will read the folder structure that you define under }Applications. (Probably best to take a backup before you start moving things around just in case something goes wrong).

I have a utility which will generate shortcut files for each Cube View on the Server.
