Conditional formatting when 'snapshot' of a view is displaye

Hi all,

I have a requirement where cube data needs to be viewed in Excel without any connectivity to TM1 cube. Also, most importantly there needs to be conditional formatting applied to certain cells of the measure dimension.

To achieve the former requirement, I plan to use the 'Snapshot' feature to display the cube view as that way there would not be any connectivity to the TM1 data and also users can view and access the report without having TM1 Perspectives installled at their end.

However, to achieve the later requirement of conditional formatting, the users do not want to spend any time applying the conditional formatting rules at their end. They expect that when the report is 'snapshot' from TM1 it should already load into Excel with required conditional formatting rules in place.

I've read couple of threads related to conditional formatting in this forum but nothing specific to my requirement.

I'd appreciate if you could spare few mins to assist me. Thanks for your time and help.

Hello

Using the snapshot functionality, this is not possible.

I guess you are creating pre-formatted reports without connection to TM1,
and then the reports are sent to the users (or stored centrally somewhere) ?

Thanks Wim for your reply.

I'm using snapshot functionality since 'Slice' and 'Active Form' would retain connectivity with TM1 cube and there isn't any requirement for any sort of analysis. The users just need to view the report. Hence, I chose to go 'Snapshot' route. Please let me know if my approach is correct or do you suggest any modifications. Your guidance will help me provide a better option to the users.

Yes, the cube views are structured as per user's needs. I 'snapshot' the views in TM1 Perspectives and store them centrally for the users to access.

Thanks

Hello

I bet you will want to take a slice, add formatting, then copy/paste as values ?

Hello Wim,

Do you mean I should 'slice', then use Excel's conditional formatting and re-save the sheet?

I'm thinking the Print Report feature, limited as it undoubtedly is, may be the best option for you.

Thanks David.

Yes, I was thinking in similar lines and was trying conditional formatting on a TM1 Websheet that was exported as a 'snapshot' in excel. It worked at my end. I plan to propose this option to the users and will look forward to their update.

Thanks for your time and help.
