Average number of days

Post by appleglaze28 »

I'd like to ask if anybody knows how to average days base on the number of element in a specified dimension. This dimension would be dynamic so, i there anyway best practice on this that you can share?

I think that you may need to rephrase the question. What exactly does the dimension represent? What values are being used to calculate an average; average days per what?

(It may be best to give a description of the cube(s) involved and the dimensions that they contain, and what you want to calculate.)
"To them, equipment failure is terrifying. To me, it’s 'Tuesday.' "

Elcomp (or was it elcompn) returns you the number of children for a consolidated element. If I understand your question correctly that should be the answer for you.

There is some discussion about averages in this post: http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=388, which may help.

Are you asking the average number of days for a particular element in the cube or for all the elments in the cube.
