Hi All:
Currently, I faced a problem. When I open the Architect and refresh the database in TM1, all the databases can be shown on the screen. But it will take a long time to the screen on entering the password unitl it shows the "Not responding".
The PM also found the same issue "Unable to connect to Planning Service."

We'll need a little more info than that. For example are you using CAM?

I found my situation is quite similary with this one. I use the cafe to connect to the server and it can be visited(Beacuse I think the cafe authenication is based on the web). But when I use the Perspecitve and PM and Architect it will not pop the entering the passwd screen until it get the error "not responding". I had check with my firewall, all the ports is passed. But when I use the wireshark to catch the package from my client to server. The port like 60xxx always can't establish TCP connection with the server. So I have no idea now.

Where are you architect? On your machine or on the server? Have you tried on the server?

Tthe architect on my server works fine. But on the remote machine can't work just as the mention above. I do the test both on DNS long name and IP address still not working. My windows server is 2008R2 and the remote desktop system is win7 enterprise.

How many TM1 server services are you running on your server machine? Did you remember to assign each one a different IP port in the tm1s.cfg?

How far away (physically and network hops) is the desktop from the server?

This is a new environment now. Only one TM1 server one port now. And I had check the port on my local desktop and found that it doesn't establish any listening status with the server.

The desktop is in office, and the server is in Data Center. Currenly I let the firewall team to extract some log whether there are any package pass the firewall.

Unfortunately, it doesn't catch any logs...

Is the Data Center in the same city as you? How far away in km or miles?
If you run the command
how many hops does it take to get from the desktop to the server?

Maybe I know the reason, but it still need some one who had the experience to help me.
Because maybe it is the firewall port. I only open the port 5495,5498,80,9300,9510,9513,9655,49152~65535,12345~12360. But there must some other invisible ports doesn't catch my eye. So Is there any one know this?

Does your list of open TCP ports include the one used by the TM1 server configuration parameter ClientMessagePortNumber ?
What happens when you explicitely set ClientMessagePortNumber to a free TCP port being a member of your list of open TCP ports ?
If you run two or more TM1 instances on the same machine, every TM1 instance must have it's own unique ClientMessagePortNumber.

Make sure whatever PortNumber is set to in your tm1s.cfg is open through the firewall.

Thanks. But actually in the final. The reason is not the port issue. It is a parameter in the .cfg need to config which is "IP ADDRESS".
