tm1 10.2.2 - taking ownership disabled

Hi guys,
A very simple question.
If any user takes ownership of a node and it shows 'reserved by that user' for that particular node, will any other user be able to take ownership?
I guess not.

AFAIK, the first person needs to release the ownership to enable any other person to take the ownership. Am I correct?
But my customer says this is not the problem and he used to take ownership even if another user reserves it. Am I going wrong somewhere?

It depends how you set it up.

In the applications set up screen you define how it handles this; can't remember the exact setting but essentially you can say either the user who has ownership needs to release it or the user will be informed or the user will just be bumped without being informed etc.

If a user is admin they can always take ownership of a node, no matter who else owns it. Admin have dictatorial powers in these situations. For example, I am admin in our TM1 system. Mr.Test owns node Node1. I can click on the blue man in applications web, and take ownership off him. if Mr.Test is not admin, he will be unable to do the same thing to me, and I would have to release ownership myself, if he wants to take ownership.

thanks for the prompt replies guys.
but I'm pretty sure that the particular user who is trying to take the ownership is NOT the admin.
But he has all the required access to that particular node!!
So, my question is user1 HAS TO RELEASE THE OWNERSHIP for user 2 to take it.. (BOTH are not the admins, both have exactly the same rights)

Either you release it for them or as I mentioned before go into the application design screen and change "on ownership change" to "Never Warn"; the options should be:
"Never Warn"
"Warn on active user"
"Prevent bouncing of active user"
"Always warn"
"Alway prevent ownership change"
