Hey guys,
We're having a bit of a strange issue while using the Export as Text Data feature. Occasionally, when the feature is used it completely locks up the server. TM1Top stops Responding, and people are no longer able to login. Even Elevated TM1Top sessions can't get a response from the system.
There doesn't really appear to be anything in the tm1server.log that indicates an error either. Everything just sort of...stops.
No CPU activity, no Memory increase (37%).
Has anyone had this happen before?

how big is the view that you are trying to export? does this happen even with small views? Does the export to text job ever finished?

Re: Export as Text Data locks system [10.1 FP1]
The original view was 672x150000x24x20 = 48384000000. Zero Suppress would have trimmed that down a bit, but not appreciably.
The interesting thing is that I exported that view already, but not all of it exported. So I pared it down to 1x150000x1x1. That worked fine, and the whole view exported, so I worked up.
1x150000x1x20 worked fine, as did 672x150000x1x20. The whole views exported, and they exported pretty quickly. When I upped that last dimension to what I wanted, everything ground to a halt.
I would expect that if the view was too large, it would tell me it was too large. I would expect that if it was taking too long, I would be able to cancel it. Nothing.

Hello
So do you mean that you have 50 billion cells in a view that you need exported, along with it's element references?
Base data and/or rules-calculated and/or consolidated?
50 billion really is a lot...
