Can anybody advise why the data directory path might be protected in the options screen? (under Local Server)
I know the path can be changed in the INI file, but I cant see a reason why its protected on one PC and not another.
Its possible that the user may need permissions granting to a specific folder on their base unit (we have recently locked the machines down more).

I am not a user I am trying to resolve an issue for a user. If further details are required

You mean options are greyed out? That's because the user doesn't have the tm1p.lic file - the licence to run Perspectives as opposed to Client. You'll notice that their Server Explorer is called "Client" not "Perspectives".

Perspectives should only be being run by administrators as this allows you to do tasks like delete dimensions, create new users, save dimensions and run local servers. This last point is why your particular issue has arisen - this directory is used to run the local server.

Licence rules keep changing, but last I knew you were only allowed a limited number of perspectives licences - you couldn't distribute them to everyone.
