Differences between IntegratedSecurityMode = 4 and 5

Hi there,

I have to understand the differences between integratedsecuritymode 4 and 5 set up in tm1s.cfg.
Following this page, I am not sure about a few things:
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/cbi/v ... ps101.html

When do I have to use mode 4 and when I have to set up mode 5?
For 5, the server uses IBM Cognos 8 security authentication and supports user groups from both TM1 and Cognos 8.
- This mean, that I can have custom-groups in TM1 created on Architect?
- I tried to add a new-custom group(having 5 set up) in Architect and it's pointing to my namespace and to choose from there.

Thanks!

In mode 5 you will need to have the groups created using the TI AddGroup function as you cannot do it from the GUI. Alternatively, you can create these groups from the GUI while running the server in mode 1/2 and then restart it in mode 5 for the server to pick them up.

What TM1Clients are not running with mode4(TM1 Contributor?)?

Will TI Functions apply only for mode5?

What other differences are between 4 and 5?
Do you know when I can use }tp_everyone group?

TM1 Contributor/Applications - it requires mode 1 or 5.

Groups created directly in TM1 (via TI or GUI) will not work with mode 4, but will work with all other modes. As a side note, the three built-in admin groups will work with any security mode, including 4.

Can't think of anything else.

When using mode 1 or 5.
