Dear all,
I am new to the TM1 Forum, apologize if I have overlooked any forum rules when posting my topic.
I have encountered a strange behavior in Cognos Express 10.1 recently. Once a while, few of my users will encounter scenario when multiple TI processes are being triggered with one click for a specific process. This doesn't happened when we were using CX9.0.
Detail description as below:
- User triggers an action button from excel that containing TI process.
- According to my user, they only click once. However, from my log I am able to see that TI is being executed for more than once.

I am wonder if anyone having similar problem as mine? Any pointer for debugging will be thankful as I am kind of out of wit for this issue.
Below some details of my environment,
CX10.1 FP1, Win Server 2008 R2, Office 2010 as client plugin.

Another remark from the log is the triggered time for the process is very close which is about 1-2 second.
Is there any way TM1 will re-trigger the TI automatically?
The number of being triggered is varied as well. From my most recent feedback, there are cases having 1 click triggers 3 processes,4 processes and 7 processes.

I think I have found the reason for this behavior based on the log activity.
Checked the total of number of TI being triggered but the completion seems lesser than the number of being triggered.

My scenario is as below.
- TI A will execute TI A.1 and TI A.2 in EPILOG and triggered by UserA
- When TI A was executing TI A.1, TI B triggered by UserB which will use the same source cube as TI A.2
- When TI A.2 was executing, TI B completed slightly after that.
- TI A.2 didn't complete and TI A kind of re-started itself.

TI A.2 and TI B is using the same source cube and some of the dimension subsets are the same subset as well. Below my current scenario:
sCubeS-View A.2 has subsets SA1, SA2, SA3 and SA4
sCubeS-View B - SA1, SA2, SB3 and SB4
In addition, TI A.2 and TI B will update subset SA1, SA2 to get the correct source view.

Is this behavior because of PI(Parallel Interaction)? Will changing the subset for one of the source views able to solve the problem?
Appreciate if any1 can enlighten me.

You're experiencing what's called 'thrashing'. The documentation provides guidance on ways to deal with it.
