Identify Cognos TM1 Components

Hi,

Is there a way to distinguish which IBM Cognos TM1 components are installed? For example CLI tool or configuration file.
In latest version it seems to have file with useful content - cmplst.txt, but such file doesn't exists in older versions - 9.5.x
Maybe there is some specific file which will identify that such component is installed(e.g TM1 Contributer)

I wouldn't trust any file because it would just show you what was installed during a specific installation, each component could have been installed or uninstalled separately at different points in time.

The easiest way is to just run the installer package again and see what it highlights as already being installed... just make sure you don't run so far as to actually start installing or uninstalling stuff accidentally.

Or just go to where the stuff is supposed to be installed and see if it is there... be it by going to the URLs or seeing if clients exist in the start menu, there aren't that many components that this wouldn't be a quick job (too many for my liking but that's another matter.)

As far as Architect and Perspectives are concerned, Help, About will tell you the version. For the TM1 server service you can look at the tm1server.log file which displays the version as part of the logging of when the service is restarted. As to the other components I have no clue. I suppose you could look at date and time stamps from certain key files but you would then need a key to tell you what date(s) corresponded to what version(s). I am not aware of any key like this.

Review the install log folder (instlog) in your tm1 installed location. You may find many helpful files (I like summary_error file) to show what components have been installed.
