Woulda, but alas by the time I woke up this morning it was already 6:30 of the pm in En-gur-land and being a Friday, time for all good OLAP Admins to be at the pub. You'll have it available from home before you'd get it from here...

I do have one slight problem. To install the files you need to have the .net command prompt. I don't have visual studio installed so no prompt. I am however going to look for alternatives..... Any pointers would be greatly appreciated though,

Jim.

PS. I know I can download the express version of visual studio for free but I may get a telling from our IT department if I install it on our server.

I managed to find the said utility in the .net directory. I amended the batch file and all dll's were added successfully. I am however still having problems with excel sheets. Does the server need to be recycled????

Cheers,

Jim.

I was reading your problem again and realized it's not just Websheet. The TM1 cube viewer failed as well hence it has nothing to do with Excel (at least for the time being). Did you check the TM1 web log file ? Any error registered ?

The cube viewer loads but the charting function doesn't work. When I initially checked the log files it was saying access denied to TempChart directory. Upon further inspection I noticed this directory was missing. I added it and set the correct security but the chart still fails but now I get no message in the log file. Very strange,

Jim.

If anybody has TM1 web installed for version 9.1 sp3 U2 could you please zip it up and send it to me??? I'm not convinced that the install I have on my server is complete... hence the issues I have been having,

Jim.

Hi, jim

Is your problem solved yet?

I saw the same image before. After trying every method, I added a TempCharts folder to TM1Web and it worked well now.
HTH :)

Hi Jessy,

No joy I'm afraid. I'm going to try and get it working on my laptop. Then I'm going to copy across the iis folder to the server. If this doesn't work I will probably go through the pain of asking our IT department to upgrade the version of excel on the box. (Trust me that will be very painful!!!)

Jim.

It's TempCharts instead of TempChart :)
Not sure whether it helps.

Are there any files / sub folders with the TempCharts folder???

I don't think re-installing Excel will help as the cube viewer charting is already failing. The cube viewer function doesn't use Excel to render websheet.

Since you are seeing missing directory, I would suggest to re-install TM1 Web, use the Administrator id as this will prevent any permission problem during installation. You can try creating missing directories but it may take you forever to find out what else is not there.

I have already re-installed several times using both netwok administrators and machine specific ones, hence my plan to install on my laptop / home PC and copy the files across. Hoepfully if this works I should be ok. The directory question was more of a general question to asses whether I do currently have some temp directories missing,

Jim.

No.
Contents in this folder are png files such as ChartPic_000001.png

Are the png files created as and when the software creates graphs or are there some base images in place at the start?

It's just like the temporary files that are used to render websheets; they're generated as and when required. A virgin install (so to speak) will have a totally empty folder. When you generate your first chart you'll see a .png file go into it. There are no template files or similar which is I think what you're getting at.

Just trying to install it on Vista as I write this and I am getting the error: rr0r 1609. An error occured while applying security settings. IUSR_NOTFOUND is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check your network connection and click Retry, or.....

No, no, seriously man, don't do it on Vista! Remember this thread? You kludge it around enough and you may, possibly, be able to get a semblance of it working but for the purpose that you intended (copying the files over to your server) the expression "cruisin' for a bruisin'" comes very much to mind.

If you're going to do that, do it on an XP or Win Server 2003 box, definitely don't do it on Vista or Server 2008 where the security model is, for the purposes of applications like Web, very, very different.

I had a feeling that was the case. Might be time for trip home to try it on a machine there. You were right about one thing: TM1 Web is a pain in the rear end!!!
