Default Expiry Time 5 Days have been asked to increase it.

Post by gethomas »

Hi,

Can the default expiry time be increased to 10 days rather than the default of 5 is this part of a configuration file that can be amended. I am not sure how this works and have searched to try and find a resolution. Any takers?

Many Thanks

Not to my knowledge assuming you're talking about the 5 day warning before you invalidate your password.

We've set up something which shows the user the number of days until password expires using rules based on the }ClientProperties cube entry against password last updated timestamp. Still far from ideal though.

Many many moons ago I raised a dev request for that but more through sheer blind optimism than any hope of it being included as a config option tbh.

Hi Garry,

Yes i dont think there is anything in TM1 which extends the password expiry it is 5 days and 5 days only. I guess this is probably one for Cognos TM1 themselves at some point as most people would like at least 7 days now rather than 5.
Thanks for your advice.
