Foreign Keys in TI

Hello,

we have a database an we would like to extract the contents in order to insert the data in TM1. When we use TI, what settings we would use for the foreign keys for example? As they are numeric I would look for variable type integer, but what should I use for the element type then? 'Data' seems to be for the values...

Hi Olekova,

The variable types in TI don't have anything to do with what they are in the database from which you are retrieving. They are what you want them to be in TM1. For example if a field of data is to be used as elements in a dimension, then it needs to be type String because all element names need to be strings (even if they are integers in your source database). But if the field is Data to be written to a numeric cell in TM1 then it needs to be of Numeric type.

As a general rule everything will type String, except the data you want to put into the cube, which will be Numeric.
