Hello - I am using my laptop to teach myself TM1. I have an instance running in Architect where I will be created Dimensions, TIs, Cubes, sets and cube views. I have TM1 add-in with my excel. However, I am unable to create a connection. My question is what is the server address. I am not connected to a server. This is all running on my C-drive on a laptop.
My instance is placed into a folder on my hard drive. e.g. C:\TM1\CWTutorial
My config fig is at C:\TM1\Learn\Config\tm1s.cfg
I have listed the setting within the tm1s.cfg file below that may be relevant:
AdminHost=
PortNumber=42436
ServerName=CWTutorial
I apologize in advance if I did not follow the proper protocol. I am new to using forums to get support. I have screen shots; however, the forum does not allow. So I tried to describe what I was seeing.
Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Server Connect in Excel
Which excel add-in are you using, the legacy perspectives or newer pafe/pax.
If it's pafe/pax then for the addin to be fully functional you'll need to install planning analytics workspace (paw) which I wouldn't recommend attempting to install on your laptop. There's an awful lot of hoops you'd need to run through and you'd need at least 24gb of ram on your machine to run it.
If it's perspectives, you should be able to connect in if you can on architect, so perhaps try sharing your screenshot again. When posting the message there is an attachments button where you can "add files".

Hello Burnstripe - I Have attached a word doc that includes the screen shots.
To answer your question, I am not using PAW.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Server Connect in Excel
According to your screenshot, you are connecting through PAX / Pafe. You need to specify the Connection URL (https://servername:port/), but if you did not go through the installation of docker / PAW, Pafe (AKA PAX), will not be able to connect.
