TM1 Perspectives Excel Error??

Post by LanceColins »

Hello everyone,

Just recently I have encountered an error in perspectives and now I cannot even launch the app.

When ever I go to launch perspectives it gives me the following error: "Windows cannot find file C:ProgramFiles/Cognos/TM1/Bin/tm1p.xla". I went to the location and the file is there.

I am using Excel 2007, which may explain a lot?

Here's what I have done so far:
-I unistalled and reinstalled TM1_MR1
-I included the path above to the trusted locations
-In the Advanced Excel OPtions I ticked and unticked the box for "Ignore Other Applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)

I am not sure what to do know???? Any Ideas

Thanks for any help in advance

Lance

Did you type that location exactly as it appears in the error message? Because I'd be surprised if it existed. C:\Program Files\Cognos\TM1\bin (with a space in "Program Files" and a backslash after the colon) would be the correct path. Backslashes rather than forward slashes are the Windows convention, though either will work; but the missing slash after the colon and the missing space won't.

I typed out the path, so it is probably wrong......you can assume the path is right. It wouldnt let me paste the screen shot.

I'm not sure how you are launching the client but what happens if you navigate to the xla in windows explorer and double click it?
