Upgrade 10.1.1 >>> PA 2.0.9.5

Hello all,

Currently using Cognos 10.1.1 and ready to install PA 2.0.9.5.

Is it possible to simply upgrade to PA or does one have to remove version 10 and do a fresh install? (Obviously the former would make my life so much easier).

If I may quote from the Installation Manual (which I recommend reading or at least skimming through, despite its ridiculous length):

When you upgrade IBM Cognos TM1 version 10.2.x to IBM Planning Analytics version 2.0.0, you need to uninstall the previous version and then install the current version. You cannot install IBM Planning Analytics version 2.0.0 directly over version 10.2.x.

The good news, such as it is, is that this ceases to be an issue once you have installed PA2.

(And you may need to know that because 2.0.9.5 is almost a year old, and a long way (and many server crash fixes) behind the current version of (as the time of writing) 2.0.9.11.)
