Hi TM1 Community,
again, we are facing one issue with PAx: When using PAx, I'm not able to deny the data entry on c-level including the automatic spread-function.
While using PAx, I noticed the possibility of typing in values at c-level, which leads to a proportional spread to all childs of the element.
We have not used this kind of function yet, so it is important to deny this behaviour.
After a short research, I found the functions "Consolidation TypeIn Spreading" and "Allow Spreading" in the Assignments (Cube: }Capabilities).
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/deny- ... ionstm1web
The function "Allow Spreading" works fine:
If I deny the function, you cannot add values on c-level. Also, the general ability of spreading data is denied, as it is supposed to be.
Unfortunately, it is not the same with "Consolidation TypeInSpreading":
After denying the function, I am still able to manually add values on c-level, followed by a automatic data-spread. In my understanding, it should be denied.
Is my understanding right? Am I facing a bug? Do you have any ideas how to fix my problem?
Further information:
I have got admin rights and tested with PAX 2.0.64 and Planning Analytics 2.0.9.9.
We are not using a cell security in all of our dimensions and it is no option to implement it.
Thank you in advance.

Re: PAX: Can not deny "Consolidated TypeIn Spreading"
Hi,
My understanding is that Consolidation TypeIn Spreading will only apply to non admin users.
In other words, setting this to deny will deny non admins but will not deny admins.

Hi Maren,
I have tested it with an user without admin-rights. Unfortunately it shows the same behaviour.

You could use cell security cube (with a rule) to control which elements a non-admin user can update and set.

Re: PAX: Can not deny "Consolidated TypeIn Spreading"
Hi,
I tested this in PAX and it works as expected for me (it was a simple 2 dim cube).
I.e. as an admin user I could update the values at a consolidated level, but as a non admin user it would not allow me.
Therefore:
I tested this in PAX and it works as expected for me (it was a simple 2 dim cube).

Therefore:
- Can confirm that the non admin user you tested is in a group where the capability is denied? Also, can you confirm the user is not in any other groups where the capability is not denied.
- What version of PAX you are using.
