I am curious to know if anyone else is experiencing high CPU times after working in PAfE for a while.
I notice that every so often my fan gets faster and faster and then check Task Manager where the CPU utilization on Excel.EXE is 8, 16, 25, 33 etc. (12 logical processors). I can close all workbooks and the CPU still remains high until I quit Excel.
I have not found a way to interrogate - Process Explorer shows a whole lot but nothing that I can make sense of to tell me what is running and using processors.
It may not be PAfE at all but just seems like it is happening recently since I have been doing a lot of template and report development.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have any antivirus software which was running or scanning in the backend?

Yup, been running ESET Nod32 for at least the last decade - not had issues with it before but could try disable real-time scanning for a bit to see if it does anything different.
Out of all the AV programs out there I have found that ESET seems to be the least intrusive whilst McAfee seems to do more harm than most viruses.
