License implication for providing data via REST API

Post by macsir »

Hi, all
If wanting to provide data from cube as a source to a downstream system/user via REST API, is there any license implication?
Is it sufficient for that user to be just a read-only user? Or needs to have read/write access? Or even a admin license?
Thanks
In TM1,the answer is always yes though sometimes with a but....

Interesting question.. Given you would need to authenticate with an admin account, would it not be covered by your current admin license?
Same as query data via any PA client?

IBM Planning Analytics Modeler
IBM Planning Analytics Modeler can create, modify and/or delete TM1 database objects; manage security
(users/groups/privileges); execute processes and schedule chores; access server performance
information (metrics cubes and server logs); create and manage workflow; read data from and write data
to an IBM TM1 server on which the Cloud Service is deployed.
Thanks

Thanks, yes, I suppose current licensing should cover this but just want to confirm if anyone has experience on this. As IBM commits to REST API, then it should be a common channel for TM1 to transfer data through REST API.

Just got confirmation from IBM, the current named user licensing model covers this.
