SQL installation on 64bit windows server

Hi All,

We are looking at using EV and we require an installation of sql server for security purposes. Does anyone have a "how to" on installing sql server on a 64bit machine. I am concerned that it will conflict with TM1. I tried an installation of SQL server on a dev box at home and had TM1 web crapped out on me and lost connectivity.

Can anyone recommend a good guide about getting this installed on the a 64bit wintel box.

I have stuck with SQLServer Express and Management Studio Express for EV as opposed to full blown SQL Server. I have always found the install and setup very straightforward on x64 and x86 and haven't ever had any problems with it affecting TM1 in any way.

Cheers mate. Been through the setup b4 and there looked like alot of boxes to tick. Are there any I should be wary off? ( im a noob to this ) Going to try an install over the next couple of days. It may have been a full blown version that I was trying to install. Should be interesting.

If SQLServer Express then accepting the defaults (i.e. just click "Next", "Next", "Next") works fine then just set up a new database called "EVRepository" and that's quite literally all there is to it. Do this before installing EV then just point EV at the EVRepository as the last step of the EV install. If you have any more technical questions the folks over at the EVUsers.org forum should be able to help you out.
