TM1 Server as a service

Post by appleglaze28 »

Has anyone encountered this error during creation of TM1 as a service?

OpenSCManager failed - Access is denied. <0x5>.

Is this more of a compatibility issue with Windows Server 2008??

I am the administrator for the unit. Or is this a network rights issue? Since the log in I use is a network user.

More likely to be an issue with the command prompt session. I don't have a Win Server 2008 machine to hand, but I do have Vista which shares similar DNA. It's not enough to simply launch the command prompt window from an Admin account. Instead, find the icon for the command prompt, right click on it and see whether there's a Run As Administrator option. If so, use that and then try to install the service.

It's a sensible precaution, but as always the error messages could be rather more enlightening.
