Approval hierarchy collapsed?

Hi guys,
is there any workaround how to have approval hierarchy collapsed?

We have quite huge region hierarchy and we would like to use nodes as the approval hierarchy, ie:
Total Region
- Region 1
--- Subregion 1.1
--- Subregion 1.2
...
- Region 2
--- Subregion 2.1
--- Subregion 2.2
...

The approval hierarchy should look like this:
Total Region
- Region 1
- Region 2

Users should be able to enter data for all subregions in selected region.

I know that "A consolidated member in an approval hierarchy must use all of the children in the approval hierarchy subset as well.".

I'm just wondering if anyone has found any workaround for this...

You may split one dimension into 2 (the 1st one - an approval hierarchy, the 2nd - full dimension with MDX filter) and use them in a cube.
