Cognos TM11 - Admin access is removed

Post by nathg90 »

Hi

I have been facing an issue with TM1 access since i am permitted to have admin access.
I have been provided the admin access to the TM1, but the access lasts only for that session. once i log out and login, i would not be having the access. Again i have to rely on another admin person to provide me the access, and the problem repeats.

can some one please help me to come over this issue

Regards,
gopi

You need to give us more than just that. Are you using CAM? Are you using mixed mode? Are you using Active directory?

If you're using CAM, group membership is refreshed from the CAM directory at every login.

If your colleague is just adding you to the group inside of TM1 (while you are already logged in) but not the related group in CAM, it would nicely explain your issue.

The admin group isn't refreshed from CAM. That's why I asked if they are using CAM, they may not be assigned to that group.

Are you using Cognos BI for security?

Hi,
We aren't using Cognos BI for security separately.
it's already inside TM1.

BTW Cognos BI security and CAM are the same thing. If you are using it (it's not included in TM1) then somebody will be managing it using the CAM management tools and you'll be pulling groups in from CAM. If none of this sounds familiar you may not be using it?

The next question is are you adding them to the generic TM1 Admin group or another group with Admin access?

At the end of the day if you're not familiar with any of this it'll be very difficult for us to try and help. Security is one of things that you need to know what's going on to track down the issue. I'm not being critical of you in any way, it's just the way it is. If none of the above makes sense then I would take some time, read some of the admin materials and see if that helps.

You appear to be a user, not a TM1 administrator, because you state that someone else gave you admin access. This means there is someone in your company that is managing TM1 access. Why are you asking a bunch of strangers on the internet a question that could easily be answered and corrected by the person or team that is managing TM1 for you?
