Migration to Planning Analytics (TM1 11)
Hi, has anyone upgraded to "Planning Analytics" yet? And if so, are there any lessons to be passed on regarding traps and difficulties etc?

So far, 79 looks and no replies... I take that TM1 v11 (Planning Analytics) is not that popular yet.

Active directory is still not quite there. Clients are offered the opportunity to enter a beta program to get it working for their environment.
In addition FTPS needs to be supported in your environment and there are plenty of niggles getting FTP working as expected. Once these are ironed out then will be looking to get Command Centre up and running.
Cognos BI in development environments just does not work. Hard to see where this one will go just yet.
As for migrations. We've found them very smooth regarding core TM1 but access to data sources is fiddly and largely reliant on CSV files uploaded to the PA server

Re: Migration to Planning Analytics (TM1 11)
Hi,
We plan to do it in ca. 2 weeks time, but we will stay on native TM1 authentication as there are features that do not work currently with IBM Id.
So in our case it will be just a "usual" TM1 upgrade to a higher version (which is 10.3 and not 11 I think), we will not use any of the new features initially. Then later this/next year we plan to implement CCC and BI, but first of all TM1Runti.exe should work with AD or IBM ID.
Until now we only found one bug with rules in cubes that use the }Clients dimension, and so we decided to go on with the upgrade.
Re FTPS, quite a few passive ports have to be opened to use it, which may be rejected by IT policy of your company

Re: Migration to Planning Analytics (TM1 11)
Hi
We moved to PA a couple of months ago and the TM1 bit of it works ok, once you've got past quite a few set up bugs.
Our main issues have been with users who were used to perspectives and now have to use a combination of CAFE (which is slightly unstable, full of bugs, not compatible with Excel 2016 and doesn't have active forms in yet) and TM1 web to get to what they need. This means I have to have duplicate versions of some files in the applications folders as Perspectives action buttons (which work on the web) don't work in CAFE and CAFE action buttons don't work in the web!
Obviously we all deploy TM1 differently so a TM1Web only deployment would probably work fine.
As Ed mentioned BI doesn't work at all and I'm not sure what the Planning Analytics Workspace adds or whether it works.
mvaspal - we were told that you had to use security mode 5 with IBM ids in Production as some bits don't work without it - Ops console in particular.
Overall we get the impression that it is not really ready as a joined up offering and IBM are running round in the background patching it up as we keep finding issues. So unless you need it might be worth holding back for 6 months or so while the advance party clear the way!

Hi
also be sure you test all your action buttons on the web after the upgrade. For us, dozens of them broke, when user click on them the processes are simply not executed, some of them also lost the server references; we had to recreate them one by one.
Yes, just realized OpsConsole does not work with native sec. Now I hope TM1Top will

Hi
Just to confirm, Ops Console works fine if all servers are using native security, so that is not an issue
