Post by kennyyeung »

As i tested , the cube and element security setting are base on the user group .
Anyone can tell me can tm1 sercutity base on the client or not ?
let's say , i have two user in the same group < --their role is sales
but the Security setting are different . They can only see their customer .

it sounds to me like you need to split up security groups. cube and dimension security is only set by groups.

All security in TM1 is group based. Also TM1 security is additive, so for any client their access level to an object is the highest level across all groups which they belong to.

This can be useful in the type of situation you describe as you can use a generic group to assign access to the cube which all your users are members of then have the narrower element level security assigned by separate groups (which in this instance might be 1:1 user to group).

You will find that assigning security with this kind of schema is much easier to set up and maintain than trying to do everything in individual groups.
