TM1 Perspectives in 64-bit Excel

Post by kpk »

Hi,

According to the 10.2.2 release note Perspective can be run in 64 bit Excel version.
Has anyone had any experience with using a 64bit version of Excel with TM1 Perspectives?
Does it have any major advantage/disadvantage compared to 32bit?

Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Peter

We've got a few users on it but they're only using CAFE, not Perspectives. (Perspectives users are still on 9.5.2 until I can row them across the Styx to 10.2.2.)

I have yet to come across data sets so large that 32 vs 64 bit makes a difference, so someone else will have to answer that part. The biggest down side to 64 bit, though, is that it breaks a lot of legacy 32 bit add-ins unless they've been updated to work in a 64 bit Excel environment. You'd definitely want to check that there are no critical add-ins which fall into that basket.
