Re: Out of Memory problem
I may be wrong but I thought 2003 enterprise edition was required for the 3GB boot.ini switch to work.

Kinda sorta, yes.lotsaram wrote:I may be wrong but I thought 2003 enterprise edition was required for the 3GB boot.ini switch to work.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328882
Important Only use the /3GB switch with the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Server
Caution We support the use of the /3GB switch in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition in a production environment for use by Active Directory. Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 is supported in a production environment when you use this functionality. Otherwise, the /3GB switch in Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition is only for development and testing purposes.

Re: Out of Memory problem
another thing...
what would be the best solution for this?
My RAM was increase to 4GB, will the reinstallation of Operating system from Server 2003 standard edition
to server 2003 enterprise edition, do the work?
Or any other flagging will help.
thanks in advance..

Re: Out of Memory problem
It's not clear from your post, the assumption is that your server shuts itself down when it exceeds the 2GB limit in 32 bit world.
There is another kind of Out of Memory message that users get when browsing cubes.
I just wanted to check we are answering the right question, so you are suffering from the first type of problem?
Cheers

Re: Out of Memory problem
I am using TM1 v9.1 SP3 32-bit, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with 4GB of RAM
My problem was -- Out of memory problem while refreshing one of the cube in the Cube viewer. I have read that since my RAM was increase to 4GB, I can use '/3GB' switch, to increase the RAM usage of TM1 in the server up to 3GB. But eventhough I have put the flagging in the 'boot.ini' file, I encountered another error that says something like '..there has been an error encountered by TM1s..', so what I did was removed the flagging.
From the answers I've got, (from those who responded in this tread), I'm using the wrong Operating System for the switch. So now I am asking, if just changing or reinstalling an Enterprise Edition of Wndow Server 2003 will do the trick.
Thank you in advance....
