Hi there,
I have a question related to the security modes in 10.2.x.
I switched from mode 5 to 1 and I restarted the TM1 Server. I noticed:
- Architect is working and I'm getting prompted with native auth
- Performance modeler/Pmpsvc are still pointing to CAM Auth.
How can PerfModeler/Pmpsvc get prompted with the native auth:
1. Restart the TM1 Application Server
2. Clean the fpmsvc_confix.xml and pmpsvc_config.xml(dispatcher and gateway) and Restart TM1 Application Server
I was not able to find any documentation for this.
Share if you have any link to the documentation.
Thanks
Move from securitymode=5 to 1

Re: Move from securitymode=5 to 1
Hello,
Mode 5, aka run state 5 is "The server uses IBM Cognos BI security authentication and supports user groups from both Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI."
Here is the documentation to explain all 5 states: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledge ... aram_N0437
As for Architect, did it not work on run state 5? Or was it the case that, when you clicked on a server, it said "Log in Failed: SystemServerClientNotFound"? If the later is true, then you need to right click on the server and click "Logon as".
As for Performance Modeler, as far as I am aware it has to go through BI in order to get the TM1 applications, which is TM1 applications web, formally known as Contributor. This is because you set workflows for applications web inside Performance Modeler.
Any more questions, just ask.
Thanks.
Trevor.
Mode 1, aka Run state 1 is "The server uses secure mode (standard Cognos TM1 security)". This means you will have to enter a username and password each and every time you log into a TM1 server.I switched from mode 5 to 1 and I restarted the TM1 Server. I noticed:

Re: Move from securitymode=5 to 1
What I want to clarify is the Performance Modeler/PMPsvc(Architect is working as expected after I restarted tm1 server).

How can PerfModeler/Pmpsvc get prompted with the native auth:
1. Restart the TM1 Application Server should be enough? Do we have any documentation for this?
or
2. Clean the fpmsvc_confix.xml and Restart TM1 Application Server

Re: Move from securitymode=5 to 1
Hello again,
Here is the link to all the TM1 10.2 documentation http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... 1v10r2m0en
That link sends you to a table of documentation, the documentation you are after is: "TM1 Performance Modeler User Guide" under the Model and Design section.
Thanks.
Trevor.
It cannot do this, When you first set up PerfModeler you are asked for a username and password, for which you must be Admin, but once the setup is complete, PerfModeler is run on the client. How can PerfModeler/Pmpsvc get prompted with the native auth:
