[SOLVED] How to set TM1 Architect to English langauge?

Post by Stanislav2 »

Hi,
I installed Cognos 10.2.2 fixpack 2 on Windows 2008 R2 on company's hardware server. During installation process I installed TM1 server components and also development components (TM1 Architect) on this Windows server. On my laptop there is no TM1 software installed. I access TM1 Architect using Windows Remote Desktop. When I start TM1 Architect the GUI is displayed in my native language. I don't want that, I want it to be in English. Any kind of help required - like getting some error message or similar - Google search etc it is going to find a lot of resourced in English, but near zero for my native language. So I need Architect in English. How to get Architect in English.

Note: Windows 2008 R2 is installed in English version, but there are some my native language setting in Region Settings - to get correctly displayed decimal numbers etc in my native language.

P.S. Until now I have used Cognos 10.1.1 where there was no my native language version available for TM1 Architect, but it looks like we got "lucky" and got my native language TM1 Architect version.
Thanks

This is stored in the file tm1p.ini.
Locate the file via %appdata%/Applix/TM1/

Close Architect.
In this file change (or add) the line:
Language = EN
Start Architect.

No, Language = ENG

But choosing EN will also lead to English since English is the default language when the chosen language is not recognized. Like EN.

@Wim Gilis, it looks like you are right in link you posted is a statement: "If you choose a language that does not exist, English is the default." I tried to set Language = x and English is used.
So it looks like Language = ENG solves the problem and TM1 Architect starts in English.

I also set the same setting in tm1s.cfg file for TM1 server and restarted the tm1 server and now I see in tm1server.log all of the messages in English, before there were some mix some in English and some in my native language.

Thanks a lot. This solves my problem.

You're welcome.

If anyone encounters a new language in the user interface (not listed on my page), drop me a note and I will be happy to add it.

Is there a way to set Performance Modeler in English language?
P.S. I am getting some login error, but because my native language is set, I can't find anything on the net.
