Lost connection to TM1 server.

I have been getting a weird error in TM1 web recently. Specifically, when a certain report is opened in Web, the report loads fine. But when I attempt to switch from the base to a sandbox I receive the following error:
Lost connection to TM1 server. Please login again...
This same error occurs when the report is opened as a sandbox and switched back to base.

This seems to have only begun since upgrading to 10.2 in production. However, the same error can not be reproduced in the QA server with the same report.

Any ideas/solutions/suggestions?

Sounds like something to file a bug with IBM for.

This is a long shot but have you tried referencing the server using the IP address in the URL - I have a vague recollection of reading something about dashes and or underscores in server names being an issue for TM1 Web and you would either need to add an alias in the DNS or your hosts file without these characters i.e.
If servername is MY-SERVER, use the IP address or create an alias called MYSERVER resolving to same address.
