TM1 10.2 Client Crashes

Has anyone found the 10.2 TM1 client crashing for no reason? We are still testing it with a plan to upgrade from 9.5 but the client appears to be unstable in our environment. We've had IBM looking into it but the client logging is providing garbage, and they aren't able to reproduce the fault so we are currently somewhat stuck.

Symptoms are;

• happens in both architect and perspectives
• happens on various machines
• all running win7 with excel 2010
• no trigger has yet been found - in some cases a user is logged in, leaves their PC for 20 mins and comes back to find the application has crashed

Interested to know if others have found this because currently our customers refuse to accept this version of TM1, but all our reporting is to be based on Cognos BI which must have this version of TM1 for it to work.

What is the exact build number of the client vs. the server. On the project where I'm working we just upgraded the dev/test environment to 10.2.202 from 10.2.201 without upgrading any clients and suddenly found all the developer and tester client sessions were crashing with very similar sounding symptoms that you describe. (also all Win7 Excel 2010)

We confirmed that it was a client server compatibility issue by a few manual client upgrades and no more crashes. However as client packaging takes about 6 weeks the only thing to do was to uninstall the server version and wind it back.

First time I've ever seen stability / compatibility issues with older client + newer server but first time for everything I guess.

TM1S.exe on the server is 10.2.20000.50183
TM1A.exe on my machine is 10.2.20000.50159

That would suggest we are in a similar situation, and i'm also awaiting a repackaged version of the client after a FP was released. If it's that simple to fix i'll be extremely happy
