Hi guys,

Do any of you have experience with running the IBM License Metric Tool for reporting sub-capacity licensing?
In our case we have a customer that is moving from physical servers to a VMWare environment, introducing to the need to do sub-capacity licensing reporting for IBM.

I have played around with ILMT 7.5 a while ago and although the installation and configuration were quite a hassle (this must be where IBM got their inspiration for the Controller installation), it seemed to work quite decent in a VM on my laptop.
Right now I am trying to install the latest version (ILMT 9.0), but it seems that it no longer runs on windows, only RedHat Linux 6.3 or higher.
As the customer does not run or support RedHat Linux 6.3 (or any version for that matter) this is a bit problematic.
Do any of you know if it is possible to get ILMT 9.0 to work on just a windows platform, or am I stuck to ILMT 7.5 in this case?

Hi,

We would be interested to hear experiences here. And btw, Controller installation was complicated even before IBM acquired Cognos.
