Subset of Control Dimension

Post by dharav »

Hello All

I have assigned control dimension in my application.

In Cube ABC, i made 2 views using two different subset (SubA -1,2,3,4) & (SubB - 7.8) of version dimension (control dimension). When i deployed the application and test it using both user and admin account, i could able to see all the element of control dimension in both subset (1 tO 8) which i mentioned above.

Is it happening because of control dimension and how could i apply the two different subset of a control dimension to two different views so that user just able to see the element of those subsets.?

I could remove control dimension and in cell security cube write a rule to apply read security to all control elements.

Thank You

To be clear: you are wanting some users to only see elements of subset A and other users to be able to see only elements of subset B of your versions dimension?

We made two subset from a version dimension where there is a subset of all plan and other subset is for (actual and forecast). All user would see both subset as they assigned in to two different views. The reason to assign them in to two different views is the difference in the measure elements for different versions.

I removed control dimension and i applied cell security rules and it worked fine. I want to know the fundamental concept behind it and its behavior in 10.2.
