Hello Friends...
We are now working on TM1 migration from 9.5.2 to 10.2.2.
It would be really helpful if You can share your thoughts and experience on this. After the migration if we have to test the functionality of existing TM1 applications, please advice on what all the areas to test. Are there any potential risks in particular area? It will be great if you can share me any test scenarios used for the same.
Thanks to all in advance.
Regards,
Kumar

It depends on what interface/s your users currently use; just straight perspectives; perspectives with a lot of vba, TM1 web, contributor?
Note that contributor doesn't exist anymore and has been replaced by "TM1 applications" so that would be the most work.
TM1 web has been rewritten and also now needs files to be in a different format but does come with a "converter" so thats a bit of work.
Perspectives hasn't changed a great deal but if you are on an older version of excel you may have some issues.
and if you use a lot of VBA it's normally fine but certainly not always...

Hi
This is a significant change. I would emphasize two areas:
- TM1 web, especially with active forms; this is because TM1Web uses a completely new technology, you have to test all your websheets. Also change all xls to xlsx.
- TM1 Contributor apps - IBM changes the logic of security in every - minor - release. Many many changes have been made between 9.5.2 and 10.2.2, check out the docs for security on contributor

Friends.. Thanks for your time and help..
Fortunately we don't use both TM1 Web and TM1 Contributor. We only use perspectives.. and ofcourse excel templates and Active forms with VBA macros.
And we use IntegratedSecurityMode = 2 for all applications.
Need your advices and help in this case.
Thanks,
Kumar

Can you provide a list of things you have already written up to test? More people will make suggestions if they can see the things that you have missed rather than provide such a list from scratch.VPKR wrote:After the migration if we have to test the functionality of existing TM1 applications, please advice on what all the areas to test. Re: TM1 migration from 9.5.2 to 10.2.2 - Need HELP
Hi,
We recently upgraded from 9.5.2 to 10.2.2. Our model had chores that would run 70 processes each night. After going live some of the processes wouldn't run in the chores properly and would error while creating a view and zeroing the view, but if you ran them independently they worked. I recreate a couple of chores and the problem went away. We did carry out testing before upgrading and we did have issues upgrading to 10 and 10.1 so didn't bother. But 10.2.2 seems a good version to me. We don't use Contributor but do use Web and Perspectives and VBA is also used in some areas.
