As part MTQ testing strategy I have created a view. This view is a monster that sits on the xxcube and has the account/departments/bus unit sitting on the rows, 162,000 + rows. Monitoring the server performance monitor while opening the view with 3 different MTQ settings, 2,16 and 32 .
We turned on logging to see the stargate view creation/deletion statistics, raising the MTQ setting decreases the amount of time it takes to build the stargate view. That’s the good news. The bad news is that in cube viewer, the view didn't open that much faster (it’s a 28 – 30 second view) because most of the view opening is spent after the stargate view is created . Maybe there’s another setting we can use to spread this load out...?
