10.2.2 Application Issue

Post by jim wood »

Hello boys and girls,

I was wondering if any of you have seen this one. I have just uninstalled 10.2.1 an installed 10.2.2. I have been able to setup application server, I have been able to create multiple central applications in performance muddler but I'm not able to open any of the said applciations. When I try to open any of them I just get a blank screen in my IE browser. Any ideas???

Jim.

PS. When I first opened application server it was missing the header banner but upon a quick refresh they came back. I don't know if this anything to do with it?
PPS. I have of course restarted everything.

To start with the obvious have you tried a different browser?
What version of IE are you on?

When we got 10.2.2 up and running at my last gig we needed a different browser for each sort of task... admittedly that was because they were still on IE8. Did get annoying having IE, Chrome and Firefox all running at the same time... and the few things that did work in more than one looked a lot different in each.

Declan,

I've now tried it in Chrome and it does open the next page but every time I get the error message "This application is currently inatcive, please activate it to enable launching of clients". But here's the thing I know that the application is active. I've trying going back a page to stop and start the application. Any ideas what's going wrong??

I've now hit this issue on another 10.2 machine when also trying to create a central application. I am able to create the application in PM. I am able to add views, validate, save and publish. It appears in the application menu but when you click on it, it comes back with the inactive error message, even after re-activating on the previous screen. I am going to look at create a responsability app to say if I get the same issue, but I might not be able to do this until later in the week.

The issue I had applied to all application types, not just central. It came from using the sample datasources. I thought I had ran notepad in admin mode when updating the CFG but obviously not. Upon making sure the CFG was up to date everything was good. I ony found this as it gave me different errors in different browsers,

Hi Jim,

I had this sort of issues in the past. Try running IE in "comparability mode". Fixed my problems

Thanks
