Hi guys,
I have the following situation: I need to organize a TM1 power user training inside the organization for a couple of people and i want to use the local server which is available once TM1 Perspectives is installed via <Start Local Server>. The users which will receive the training are not Admins on their computers due to company security policies and they can non start the local server as an application. Is there any setting anywhere i can change to make this happen?
One option i was thinking off is installing a service for the local server on each user machine but i don't know if this will work - haven't tried it yet (the local server does not have a tm1s.cfg which is required to install the service but i guess this can be created accordingly).
TM1 version used is 9.4.1 MR1.
Have a great day,
Local Server won't start for non-admin computer users

Re: Local Server won't start for non-admin computer users
The option that you are talking about: it should work if the PC's have the capability to run a TM1 server.
You have 2 options: create a service for a TM1 model, or start TM1 as an application (this is a double click on a shortcut to the tm1s.exe file in the bin directory for TM1, including - in the shortcut - the path to the config file with parameter -z)
If the PC's only contain TM1 Perspectives and no possibility to run a TM1 server, you could also create additional services/applications on a remote TM1 server, and have each user work in their own TM1 server (connection to the remote server).
Just duplicate the data directory x times, copy cfg files and change their settings accordingly. Then all users can work privately in their own model without having an impact on each other.
After the training, make sure you delete the extra temporary servers to not violate any potential agreements regarding number of TM1 servers and so on.
